Account Number
An account number is a unique identifier assigned by a bank to each account holder. It's used in conjunction with a routing number or sort code to identify accounts for transactions.
Account numbers vary in length depending on the bank and country. They appear on checks, bank statements, and are required for setting up direct deposits, automatic payments, and wire transfers. Account details often include an account title, and some countries use local formats such as Nigeria's NUBAN.
