Batch Processing
Batch processing is a method of processing transactions in groups rather than individually (as in RTGS systems), typically done at scheduled intervals throughout the day.
ACH payments are processed in batches, which is why they take longer to settle than real-time transfers. Banks collect transactions throughout the day and process them together, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
