Bermudian Dollar
BMD is the official currency of Bermuda. It is issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority and is subdivided into 100 cents.
The dollar was introduced in 1970 as part of decimalization. It is pegged at parity (1:1) to the US dollar, which also circulates as legal tender. The Bermuda Monetary Authority was established in 1969. The economy is heavily dependent on international finance and tourism.
