FedNow
FedNow is a real-time payment service operated by the Federal Reserve that enables instant credit transfers between participating financial institutions in the United States. Unlike ACH, payments settle individually in real time like RTGS systems and are available to the recipient within seconds, 24/7/365.
Banks and credit unions connect to FedNow to offer instant payments for bill pay, payroll, and person-to-person transfers. It is comparable to the RTP network. Settlement occurs in central bank money, reducing credit and liquidity risk.
