Falkland Islands Pound

FKP is the official currency of the Falkland Islands. It is issued by the Falkland Islands Government and is subdivided into 100 pence.

The pound is pegged at parity to British sterling, and both currencies are used interchangeably on the islands. Currency is fully backed by sterling securities. In 2025, new polymer banknotes featuring King Charles III were introduced. The economy is based on fishing, tourism, and sheep farming.
