Regulation D

Regulation D is a U.S. Federal Reserve regulation governing reserve requirements and certain transaction limits. It historically restricted the number of monthly transfers from savings accounts.

While the federal transfer limit was removed in 2020, many banks still reference Regulation D in their account terms. It continues to influence how banks classify deposit accounts.
