Solomon Islands Dollar
SBD is the official currency of the Solomon Islands. It is issued by the Central Bank of Solomon Islands and is subdivided into 100 cents.
The dollar was introduced in 1977 following independence, replacing the Australian dollar at par. The Central Bank of Solomon Islands was established in 1983, evolving from the earlier Solomon Islands Monetary Authority. The currency has shifted from an AUD peg to a floating system.
