Sistema de Pagos Electronicos Interbancarios
SPEI is Mexico's real-time gross settlement (RTGS) electronic interbank payment system. It enables rapid transfers between Mexican banks and is the main rail for domestic electronic payments.
SPEI is operated by Banco de Mexico and uses CLABE account numbers to route payments. It is widely used for retail and business transfers, including instant payments.
