Launched in 2018, USDC is backed by cash and short-term US Treasury bonds held in regulated financial institutions. It publishes monthly attestation reports from accounting firms. USDC operates on multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, and others, and is widely used in decentralized finance.
