ZWG
Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG)
ZWG is the official currency of Zimbabwe, introduced in April 2024. It is issued by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and is subdivided into 100 cents.
The Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) replaced the Zimbabwean dollar (ZWL) as Zimbabwe's sixth attempt at a stable local currency since 2008. It is backed by gold reserves and foreign currency. The ISO code ZWG was certified by the World Bank in June 2024. The currency was devalued 43% in September 2024.
