CRC
Costa Rican Colón
CRC is the official currency of Costa Rica. Named after Christopher Columbus (Cristóbal Colón in Spanish), it has been in circulation since 1896.
The colón is issued by the Central Bank of Costa Rica (Banco Central de Costa Rica) and is subdivided into 100 céntimos. Since 2015, it has floated within a band managed by the central bank. The currency symbol is ₡.
