IDR
Indonesian Rupiah
IDR is the official currency of Indonesia. It is issued and controlled by Bank Indonesia and is subdivided into 100 sen, though sen are no longer used.
The rupiah was introduced in 1946 during the independence struggle. The name derives from the Sanskrit word for 'silver'. Bank Indonesia has initiated the Garuda Project to develop a central bank digital currency. Banknotes range from 1,000 to 100,000 rupiah.
