ISK
Icelandic Króna
ISK is the official currency of Iceland. It is issued by the Central Bank of Iceland (Seðlabanki Íslands) and is one of the world's smallest currency areas.
The name 'króna' means 'crown' and shares etymology with other Nordic currencies. The current króna was introduced in 1981 after a revaluation at 100 old krónur to 1 new króna. Iceland is not an EU member and maintains its own independent monetary policy.
