JMD
Jamaican Dollar
JMD is the official currency of Jamaica. It is issued by the Bank of Jamaica and was introduced in 1969, replacing the Jamaican pound.
The Jamaican dollar is subdivided into 100 cents and floats freely in the foreign exchange market. The Bank of Jamaica has transitioned all banknotes to polymer for enhanced durability and security. In 2022, a new banknote series was introduced commemorating Jamaica's 60th anniversary of independence.
