JPY is the official currency of Japan and the third most traded currency in the world. Unlike most currencies, it has no subunit in everyday use.

The yen is managed by the Bank of Japan. Its relatively low value per unit means transactions often involve large numbers. The yen is often used as a safe-haven currency during economic uncertainty.
