KYD

Cayman Islands Dollar

KYD is the official currency of the Cayman Islands. It is issued by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and is subdivided into 100 cents.

The dollar was introduced in 1972, replacing the Jamaican dollar. It is pegged to the US dollar at 1 KYD = 1.2 USD since 1974, making it one of the highest-valued currency units. In 2023, CIMA began seeking public input for new designs featuring King Charles III.
