SRD
Surinamese Dollar
SRD is the official currency of Suriname. It replaced the Surinamese guilder in 2004 at a rate of 1 dollar to 1,000 guilders.
The Surinamese dollar is issued by the Central Bank of Suriname (Centrale Bank van Suriname). Since June 2021, it has floated freely after years of a fixed exchange rate. The currency is subdivided into 100 cents. Suriname's economy is heavily dependent on commodity exports including gold and oil.
