GYD
Guyanese Dollar
GYD is the official currency of Guyana. It is issued by the Bank of Guyana and is subdivided into 100 cents.
The Guyanese dollar was introduced in 1966 following independence, replacing the East Caribbean dollar at par. It operates under a managed exchange rate regime where the central bank intervenes to stabilize the currency against the US dollar. Banknotes include accessibility features for visually impaired users.
