Stale-Dated Check
A stale-dated check is a check presented long after it was issued, typically six months or more. Banks may refuse to honor it due to increased risk.
Policies vary by bank, and some stale-dated checks may still be paid at the bank's discretion. The payer can also issue a replacement check.
