VES
Venezuelan Bolívar
VES is the official currency of Venezuela. It is issued by the Central Bank of Venezuela (Banco Central de Venezuela) and has undergone multiple redenominations due to hyperinflation.
The bolívar soberano (VES) was introduced in 2018, replacing the bolívar fuerte at 100,000:1. A further redenomination created the bolívar digital in 2021. Due to extensive currency substitution, many transactions in Venezuela occur in US dollars, though prices may be quoted in bolívares.
