VUV
Vanuatu Vatu
VUV is the official currency of Vanuatu. It is issued by the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu and has no subdivisions.
The vatu was introduced in 1981, replacing the New Hebrides franc at par after independence. The name means 'stone' in indigenous languages, referencing traditional currency. In 2014, a new polymer banknote series was introduced including a new 2,000 vatu denomination.
