YER
Yemeni Rial
YER is the official currency of Yemen. It is issued by the Central Bank of Yemen and is subdivided into 100 fils, though fils are no longer in circulation.
The rial unified the currencies of North and South Yemen after reunification in 1990. Since the civil war began in 2014, the currency has experienced severe devaluation with dual exchange rates emerging between government and Houthi-controlled areas. The Central Bank was relocated to Aden in 2016.
