Zimbabwean Dollar
ZWL was the currency of Zimbabwe from 2019 until April 2024, when it was replaced by the Zimbabwe Gold (ZWG). It was issued by Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwean dollar was officially retired on August 31, 2024. Before replacement, it had lost over 70% of its value in early 2024 alone, hitting Z$30,000 per USD. It was converted to ZiG at 2,498.7 ZWL = 1 ZiG. Zimbabwe has a history of currency crises, including the famous hyperinflation of 2008-2009.
