Bolivian Boliviano
BOB is the official currency of Bolivia. It is issued by the Central Bank of Bolivia (Banco Central de Bolivia) and is subdivided into 100 centavos.
The boliviano was introduced in 1987, replacing the peso boliviano at a rate of 1 million to 1. Since 2011, it has maintained a fixed exchange rate to the US dollar at approximately 6.96 BOB per USD. Banknotes feature the formal name 'Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia' reflecting the country's multiculturalism.
