CDF
Congolese Franc
CDF is the official currency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is issued by the Central Bank of the Congo and is subdivided into 100 centimes.
The current franc was reintroduced in 1997, replacing the hyperinflated new zaïre at 1 franc = 100,000 new zaïres. Despite the country's vast mineral wealth, the currency has experienced significant volatility due to political instability and economic challenges.
