Dominican Peso

DOP is the official currency of the Dominican Republic. It is issued by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (Banco Central de la República Dominicana) and is subdivided into 100 centavos.

The Dominican peso was first introduced in 1844 following independence from Haiti. The modern peso dominicano has been the official name since 2010. It operates under a floating exchange rate regime, with the central bank implementing policies to maintain stability and control inflation.
