HTG
Haitian Gourde
HTG is the official currency of Haiti. It is issued by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti and is subdivided into 100 centimes.
The gourde was introduced in 1813 during the reign of King Henri Christophe. Due to a historical peg of 5 gourdes to 1 US dollar, Haitians often quote prices in 'Haitian dollars' (worth 5 gourdes). The currency has experienced significant depreciation against major currencies in recent years.
