EGP
Egyptian Pound
EGP is the official currency of Egypt. It is issued by the Central Bank of Egypt and is subdivided into 100 piastres (qirsh).
The pound has been Egypt's currency since 1834. In 2016, the Central Bank adopted a floating exchange rate system, allowing market forces to determine its value. Since 2022, Egypt has implemented multiple currency adjustments as part of broader economic reforms supported by the IMF.
