Israeli New Shekel
ILS is the official currency of Israel. It is issued by the Bank of Israel and has been in circulation since 1986 when it replaced the old shekel.
The new shekel is subdivided into 100 agorot. The Bank of Israel employs an inflation-targeting monetary policy with a floating exchange rate. The currency is symbolized by ₪ and is known for its stability among Middle Eastern currencies.
