KZT
Kazakhstani Tenge
KZT is the official currency of Kazakhstan. It is issued by the National Bank of Kazakhstan and is subdivided into 100 tiyn.
The tenge was introduced in 1993 after independence from the Soviet Union. In 2015, the currency transitioned to a free-floating exchange rate regime. Kazakhstan's economy is heavily dependent on oil exports, making the tenge sensitive to global oil prices.
