UZS
Uzbekistani Sum
UZS is the official currency of Uzbekistan. It is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is subdivided into 100 tiyin.
The sum was introduced in 1994, replacing the Soviet ruble. In 2017, Uzbekistan liberalized its foreign exchange policy, allowing the currency to float freely. The Central Bank maintains a managed float regime, intervening to prevent extreme volatility while controlling inflation.
