Turkish Lira

TRY is the official currency of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and is subdivided into 100 kuruş.

The lira symbol (₺) was adopted in 2012 after a nationwide contest. The currency has experienced significant depreciation in recent years due to high inflation. The central bank implements monetary policy aimed at achieving and maintaining price stability.
