UGX
Ugandan Shilling
UGX is the official currency of Uganda. It is issued by the Bank of Uganda.
The current shilling was introduced in 1987 at 100 old shillings = 1 new shilling after high inflation. Uganda was the first African country to introduce the SPARK optical security feature on regular banknotes to prevent counterfeiting. The shilling is generally stable in most financial transactions.
