LYD
Libyan Dinar
LYD is the official currency of Libya. It is issued by the Central Bank of Libya and is subdivided into 1,000 dirhams.
The dinar was introduced in 1971, replacing the Libyan pound at par. Following political turmoil since 2011, the currency has faced challenges including divergent exchange rates and parallel banking systems. The dinar's value is heavily influenced by Libya's oil exports.
