NGN
Nigerian Naira
NGN is the official currency of Nigeria. It is issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is subdivided into 100 kobo.
The naira was introduced in 1973, replacing the Nigerian pound. In June 2023, the Central Bank abandoned the currency peg, allowing the naira to float freely and resulting in significant devaluation. Nigeria has also introduced the eNaira, one of Africa's first central bank digital currencies.
